About Le Oma
Le Oma Spitbraai Specialists was started in 1994 by Gideon and Ina de Swardt, together with Anton Klein.
A lot has changed since our humble beginnings two decades ago with only 4 spitbraai machines and a catering capacity of 200 people maximum.
Due to our excellent service and countless referrals, we now have nearly 40 spit braai machines, an oxbraai and we can cater for as many as 7,000 guests.
With our custom-built stainless steel spits, dedicated management and staff, passion and uncompromising standards we are capable of catering for large corporate functions or small intimate functions.
Le Oma Spit braai Specialists is a well-respected catering company servicing all walks of life, in and around Durban, but also throughout South Africa.
How we cook
All our spits are full stainless steel units. The spits are gas-operated to braai indoors and outdoors. Infra-red burners are used to maximise cooking time and this ensures that the meat is cooked right through. The entire process is also completely smokeless. The spit has its own drip tray to ensure no mess and no fuss. All meat and some of the starters are served directly from the spit to ensure that your food is served warm.
